The next meeting of the stamp club will be January 6.  Please bring cookies for the table.  The hall is open from 1 pm, the meeting starts at 2:15pm.

Don’t forget to pay your dues.  Dues are $10.00 for adults and $1.00 for junior members (18 years old or younger).  Please add an additional $5.00 if you would like the newsletter mailed to you.  The Newsletter is available online at no cost. Make the check out to the Westmoreland County Philatelic Society and send it to the address in the header.

 Christmas Cancels


Postmarks may be ordered up to 30 days after the postmark date.  Don't use stamps issued after the postmark date.  Include a SASE for return of your covers/post cards. 


Christmas Around the World

United Kingdom


The UK Christmas stamps feature 8 stamps, with mailboxes and a wintery background.



Australia Christmas stamps feature two Madonna & Child stamps and three secular stamps.


Christmas Island

Christmas Island stamps feature Santa and a native bird with a Christmas tree.



Canada issued a souvenir sheet of Christmas clothing in domestic and international rates.



Austria has provided a Nativity scene that is part of the ceiling painting in a pilgrimage church in Austria.




Belgium issued two stamps depicting a Christmas tree.  One for use in Belgium and one for use in the rest of Europe.
