Year 2017 TREK

The 2017 Appalachian Wagon Train trek will travel from Cochranton, PA to Stoneboro, PA   The route will take the wagon train through parts of Crawford, Venango and Mercer Counties.  The trek will begin June 18th and conclude June 25th. 

The following is a  schedule and plan for the route.  The wagon train reserves the right to make changes to schedule and route as conditions require. 

The public is invited to visit with The Appalachian Wagon Train at the campsites or greet us along the trail. There is never an admission charge. The fried dough and ice cream socials are open to all members and guests.



Directions to starting campsite at Brad & Brittany Deter, 769 Stevens Road, Cochranton, PA 16314

Directions from 422 to the first field

Take 422 to Rt.8 toward Franklin. Follow Rt.8 to Rt.322W. Take 322W for approximately 10 miles. Turn left on to Utica Road. Travel approximately 2 miles to Stevens Road. Turn right on to Stevens and the field will be down there on your left.

Directions from I79 to the first field

Take the Cochranton Geneva Exit off of I79. Take Rt.285E toward Cochranton. Once you get to Cochranton on 285 at the stop sign turn left on to Rt.173N, travel through Cochranton on 173 until you get to Rt.322 (at a blinker light) Turn right taking 322E. Travel roughly 8 miles on 322E. Turn left on to Utica Road. Travel approximately another 2 miles to Stevens Road. Turn right on to Stevens and the filed will be down there on your left.

 8 AM - Travel in a loop north and east to Cochranton and return to Brad & Brittany Deter Property .  16.3 miles

 6 PM - Dinner - Hot Dogs, ac & Cheese  (*Chuck Wagon participants only)

 8AM - Trek continues through Utica to Steve & Karen Hawkins property - 14.8 miles

 6 PM - Dinner - Roast Turkey (*Chuck Wagon participants only) 

 7 PM - Contests followed by Ice Cream Night

 8 AM - Trek continues in a loop through Goddard State Park and returns to Stoneboro Fairgrounds - 15.7 miles

 6 PM - Dinner - Bean Soup & Hamburgers  (Open to all)

* Chuck Wagon meals are provided only to members who paid for Chuck Wagon Meals on their registration form.

It is requested that no member of the Appalachian Wagon Train leave or break camp during the Morning Worship Service. This rule should be strictly observed.

Do to insurance requirements only registered participants may camp overnight.
